What is a 3(38) Fiduciary?
A plan sponsor appoints a 3(38) fiduciary to manage the investment process of the retirement plan and relieves the plan sponsor of their responsibilities for the investment manager's decisions. This person or entity becomes "solely responsible for the selection, monitoring, and replacement of plan investment options".
